Being healthy is one of the main priorities in our life. Nowadays most people cannot take proper care of themselves because they have busy schedules and workloads. As the pollution levels are increasing day by day, the cases of lifestyle diseases are also getting higher.

But the lucky thing is, you can prevent all lifestyle and environmental diseases efficiently. Many doctors suggest doing some alterations in your daily habits to stay healthy. Here are a few tips to stay healthy and fit.

  • Eat nutritious: A healthy and nutritious diet is the key to a healthy living. Healthy eating includes eating fresh fruits and vegetables, reducing your salt intake, avoiding saturated fats, and processed fruits. Replace sugary drinks with fresh fruit juice, and salty snacks with nuts or seeds.
  • Stay physically active: We adults are staying inactive because of a 9 to 5 job role, and kids are for online games. But this inactive lifestyle can lead to multiple diseases including heart problems and obesity. This is why it is important to do a moderate amount of exercise to prevent these unwanted disorders. How much physical activity one should do depends on the physical condition and age. Doctors usually prefer that an adult should do at least 20 minutes of moderate intensity workout, or 1 hour of walking. You can do aerobics, anaerobics, cardio, running and walking to stay physically fit.
  • Maintain good hygiene: The recent three years have taught us how important good hygiene is to prevent harmful infections and diseases. Therefore make sure to wash your hands before eating and after coming from outside, and cover your mouth when sneezing or coughing. However, frequent hand washing with soap and water is not always feasible, this is why it is advisable that you carry an alcohol based sanitizer to prevent this situation.
  • Maintain your sleep cycle: Having a good quality of sleep is very important. It is preferable that an adult should have at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep, inadequate sleep can interfere in your daily life routine and productivity. Some studies have also shown that lack of sleep can lead to weight gain.
  • Quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption: We all are well aware of the harm that smoking can cause. Not only smokers, passive smokers can also lead to heart disease and lung cancer. Moderate amounts of alcohol can be good for health, but excessive amounts of alcohol can weaken your immune system and cause liver cancer. However, both habits are not good for our health.

Apart from all these, hydration is also extremely essential for your good health. These tips are very minimal but are very beneficial for our health. So, make use of these simple tips and lead a disease free healthy life.
